My Lavender Sleep Masks Are In

I was so super excited when I opened the package today from the wholesale company. The sleep masks smell so awesome!!

My first product, aside from the Amazon products, is now officially available at TheDreamDrawer.com! They are Touch Me (TM) brand Lavender Sleep Eye Masks. The lavender eye masks come in four colors: pink, green, blue and purple.

Here is the product description I wrote:

The Touch Me (TM) lavender scented Sleep Eye Mask is a perfect product for many reasons. First, the lovely lavender scent can help alleviate tension, anxiety and depression, as well as help relieve headaches. Also, as a sleep mask should, it can help promote sleep by eliminating disruptive lights, as well as relax the wearer. The Touch Me (TM) Lavender Sleep Mask is luxuriously padded, contoured and finished with an elastic band for an easy and comfortable fit. This mask will eliminate disruptive lights, making it perfect for sleeping during daylight hours. Aside from napping, this sleep mask is perfect for airplane travel, meditation, use with massage therapy and even, well, games.... To use: Place either side of soft mask over your eyes and secure elastic band. Available colors: This mask is also available in green, pink and purple. Important: This sleep mask is not machine washable

Features:

Sleep Mask is lavender scented for ease of anxiety, depression or just to help relax
Sleep Mask is contoured with elastic band for cozy fit
Sleep Mask is soft satin.
Use this sleep mask for headache relief, too!
Perfect for airplane travel or napping during daylight

I laid down wearing a blue one for a little while. Love it! I honestly don't know how long the scent lasts, but man, do I feel relaxed just smelling it. Also, when I took the mask off, my eyes felt rested even though I didn't sleep. I stare at a screen all day, so this was so nice!

These masks are on sale for $4.95!! Check them out!

Melatonin- A Natural Sleep Aid

I remember the first time I took Melatonin, a natural sleep aid. My friends and I were going to Knoebel's Grove for WVIA-Day... I support my local NPR station and as a thank-you, I get to take five friends to this amusement park each year. At any rate, we wanted to get up really early and feel good and refreshed-- however, we went out the night before. Plus, we were excited and couldn't sleep. So, my friend Andy told me about melatonin-- he had some. We all took one before bed, slept like rocks, and despite less than eight hours of sleep, the melatonin made us sleep well- we woke up feeling refreshed.

Ever since that day, I have always stocked up on the Natrol brand melatonin, as shown above. But, what is melatonin, and why does it help you sleep better?? According to Natrol, our bodies naturally release melatonin in response to changes in light, and as it gets darker, our melatonin levels rise. So, when someone takes melatonin as a supplement, it promotes sleep. However, that statement is not from the FDA. In sleep theory, it is often thought that we had a third eye.... and this is near where that melatonin is secreted... so pretty darn cool.

There are many brands of melatonin out there, most are 3mg. It is not reccomended that one take more than one. I actually also drink a peppermint tea with a small amount of melatonin, and I usually don't take a melatonin pill along with the tea incase...

What Do Dreams Mean?

Google Analytics is a really cool thing. This useful webmaster tool allows you, among a trillion other things, allows you to see what keywords people are searching for to find your site. I was looking at the keywords people have typed in to get the to The Dream Drawer.

What I want to do is start blogging about these words and phrases because that is what you dreamers want to find online.

First and foremost- "What do dreams mean" is the most used keyword phrase as of today. "What do dreams mean" is kind of a broad phrase to write about, but I will try to every week or so, blog about a popular deeper dream meanting topic, such as "teeth falling out dream" or "what does it mean to dream about sex" and others.

But if you, like me, wonder what dreams mean, by all means, visit The Dream Drawer to search for the perfect dream dictionary for you. There are dozens available. I know that there are many dream meaning websites out there, but there is nothing like owning a dream dictionary or two to keep by your bedside. They are just fun to peruse through. So, check the site out today and see if you can find one that is calling your name.

Dream on,
Donna

My Super Bowl Nightmare!

I ate entirely too much at Jackie's SuperBowl party. I had six or seven beers, but I wouldn't say I was drunk. I think I had too much food to get drunk. Everything was so freakin' good, I just couldn't stop eating.

So, I think my digestive system was just freaked out and on overload that it sent all sorts of strange signals to my brain, which then turned into a massive nightmare.

When we got home from Jackie's, I crashed on the loveseat. Dave went upstairs to bed. Then around 1:30ish, he heard me screaming bloody murder:

"HELP ME! SOMEBODY HELP ME! SOMEBODY, PLEASE HELP ME!!!"

His heart was racing and he ran to see that I was just having a nightmare. What was so strange was that my cat, Spectra was lying content on my tummy like nothing happened. She must be used to my strange sleeping habits.

But yeah- I was being chased I think, and it was one of those nightmares where you are screaming but nothing is coming out. So you keep trying to yell. I guess in real life I was screaming because it woke Dave out of a sound sleep and he was upstairs.

I was literally sleeping and laying down, but when he got me up and back to reality, I was panting, out of breath and my heart was racing so fast- I made him feel my chest (come on, mind outta the gutter!)... it was one of the worst nightmares I had in a long time, at least in my body's reaction to it.

But yeah- my cat just laid there. That's the funny part. I can laugh now that I realized no bad guy was chasing me and I have my voice back.
